Deb Griffiths, the Funeral Director at Down to Earth personally writes and performs most of the funeral services here. She is both an experienced funeral celebrant and an authorised civil celebrant.

Deb realised she was cut out for putting together end-of-life celebrations when she organised and officiated her Dad’s farewell for one of her first funerals, and it was a true celebration of his life.

Her passion is to help you celebrate the life of your loved one in a way that would honour them the most. Her philosophy is that no matter how tragic a death is, we must celebrate the life that was, so the soul can truly be set free.

She believes grief is simply love in another form, and that funerals, when done right, can be incredibly healing experiences that help those that are left behind to move forward with acceptance. She also understands that her style might not be to everyone’s taste, and encourages people to choose their own celebrant, as they set the tone of your loved one’s end-of-life celebration.

  • Advanced Care Directives are legal documents that let people know your wishes, from power of attorney, to end-of-life care.

They can be an important document that provides comfort and assurance that your wishes will be met after your death. We honour all after-death care wishes that are written in Advanced Care Directives.

Some people do not wish to receive any mortuary care whatsoever, and some may want to be dressed in their best outfit. Whatever you want, we think it’s a great idea to write it down.

We provide Advanced Care Directive kits free of charge, and we are happy to assist you with any questions you may have.

Click here to visit the government website where you can apply for a kit.
